Pamela Anderson Actress and animal-rights activist Pamela Anderson is calling for an international boycott of KFC over what she claims is the fast food chain's "cruelty to chickens." Is this really today's top story? Probably not. But I rather post a Pammy pic than one of this next guy…

Who's the most powerful man in Hollywood? Steven Spielberg? Tom Hanks? Nope. It's producer Jerry Bruckheimer, according to Entertainment Weekly's list of the most powerful creative people in Tinseltown. Bruckheimer is the man behind the flicks Pirates of the Caribbean and Bad Boys 2, and TV's C.S.I. and Amazing Race.

Ben and Jen's status? Ben Affleck puzzled reporters by referring to J-Lo as his "pretty girlfriend" and not his fiancée while being honored at a People for the American Way Foundation event Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, the Boston Globe reports there's signs the wedding's back on, including a meeting with a famous British hat designer about making a headpiece for the big day. J-Lo's friends have indicated that she'll be Mrs. Affleck before the end of the year, according to the paper.

James Garner (Rockford Files) will join ABC's 8 Simple Rules… as the father of Katy Segal's character, who helps her cope with the sudden death of John Ritter's character. Garner's role is not permanent. He'll be part of the first four new episodes when the show returns next month.

The makers of Caterpillar bulldozers are suing Disney because they don't like how they're portrayed in the straight-to-DVD flick George of the Jungle 2. Could we take ourselves a little more seriously?

The big TV networks blinked. NBC and CBS aired repeats the last couple nights to avoid competing with the two decisive baseball playoff game sevens on Fox.

Hollywood's already developing a movie comedy about a baseball fan who interferes with a crucial play and has to deal with the repercussions. Too bad for that Cubs fan this movie wasn't out last weekend--maybe he would've thought twice before being such a bonehead.

Oh no, what have we started? Access Hollywood's Pat O'Brien says he's debating running for governor of South Dakota in 2006.

Opening today: Runaway Jury; The Texas Chainsaw Massacre; Mystic River.

Halle Barry hosts Saturday Night Live this weekend. Britney Spears is the musical guest. Will Madonna make a surprise appearance? What will the girls do to top the famous MTV kiss? These are the questions big ratings are made of.

Radiohead perform tonight on the Late Show with David Letterman.

John Mayer Singer John Mayer is postponing his European tour. According to a vague statement on his website, "John has been instructed by his doctor to not perform full-length, back-to-back shows for at least two to three weeks in order to maintain his health."

Ozzy Osbourne's doctor has given the rocker similar advice. The Ozman's cancelled his European tour while he's treated for a nervous tremor in his hand. His doctor says that Osbourne does not have Parkinson's disease.

Fox was the most-watched TV network last week, thanks to ratings for the baseball playoffs that are 37% higher than last year. Too bad for that Cubs fan who went for the foul ball--even more people know what he looks like!

So who's picking on Britney Spears this week? Eminem, who says "she sucks and can't sing" and calls her music "corny as hell." So if you don't like it, don't listen, right? Eminem says he has to because his young daughter Hailie is a big fan.

Look for Madonna to make an unannounced appearance on Saturday Night Live when Britney Spears hosts the show this weekend.

Two Bon Jovi concerts are being filmed next month for an upcoming DVD. The band's performing newly-reworked acoustic versions of their classic hits, which just happen to make up their next album, We Couldn't Think Of Any NEW Songs! (uh, it's actually This Left Feels Right).

Rapper Ludacris tops the album charts this week with Chicken and Beer.

What's a show to do when it keeps killing off many of its most entertaining characters? The Sopranos is planning to bring them back. Many of your favorite-but-wacked characters from the first four seasons return for a dream sequence in an episode planned for the fifth season.

Sting will be honored as the MusiCares Person of the Year by the Recording Academy during the Grammy Fest week of events in February.

Yoko Ono has approved the use of her late husband's songs for a Broadway musical. The show's building a story set in the tumultuous 1960s and early 70s around thirty John Lennon solo songs. The unnamed production should debut for the 2004-2005 season.

Early word is Clay Aiken is on track to sell 700,000 copies of his debut album this week. That'd mean another number one debut for an American Idol singer. Kelly Clarkson's album debuted at the top of the charts earlier this year.

Enrique Iglesias' new album, Seven, hits stores November 25th. Experts will be watching this one closely to see if the mole Enrique recently had removed actually had all the talent (as long suspected).

Jewel Jewel's acting… sucks?! Producers of the new Rob Lowe show, The Lyons Den, hired her to play the recurring role of the Rob Lowe character's ex-fiancée. Word is they truly hated her acting. And Jewel refused to kiss Rob, as the script called for. Insiders say Lowe thought she was "a ninny." Jewel appears on a few episodes next month, but she's not being invited back.

The good news for Jewel is that she's been booked to appear on the 2003 Radio Music Awards October 27th on NBC. Nelly, Avril Lavigne and Michelle Branch are also set to perform.

50 Cent scored the top honors Monday night at The Source Hip-Hop Music Awards, winning for Album of the Year and Single of the Year. 50 Cent was a no-show at the ceremony. His mentor Eminem has a feud with the magazine. (you're not worth your weight in gold teeth in the rap world unless you have a "feud" with someone).

No Doubt has three big releases coming out November 25th: a "best of" CD; a four-disc box set; and a live DVD. You can check out the track listings at nodoubt.com

Sign that maybe you've earned too much money in your lifetime #1: Rosie O'Donnell is putting up $10 million of her own money to bring a Boy George musical to Broadway. Taboo opens November 12th, and stars the Culture Club singer.

Sign that maybe you've earned too much money in your lifetime #2: Prince is going door-to-door in Minneapolis as a Jehovah's Witness. The women that called the local newspaper about it just happened to be Jewish, and it just happened to be Yom Kippur when his purple reign-ness knocked on her door. Needless to say, Prince didn't sell her on his brand of religion (pretty much like he hasn't been able to sell a record in ten years).

Sheryl Crow had some concert footage shot this summer at a couple shows near Dayton, Ohio. It'll be released as a live DVD, tentatively called C'mon America 2003, in December.

That American Idol holiday special will have plenty of competition on TV the night of November 25th. NBC airs concert specials from Justin Timberlake and Shania Twain the same night.

So where's Ruben Studdard's album? Clay Aiken's dropped yesterday, but fans of the "Velvet Teddy Bear" will have to wait until December 9th.

Hot items for Halloween: costumes inspired by the movies Chicago and The Matrix Reloaded. Not so hot: a costume of the Chicago Cubs fan who prevented his left-fielder from catching a foul ball last night, probably blowing his team's chance of EVER making it to the World Series.

American Idol: The Great Holiday Classics Fox airs American Idol: Christmas Songs November 25th, a one-hour special of holiday music by Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Justin Guarini and Clay Aiken. "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" (Seacrest and the Idol judges) won't be appearing.

The special will also promote the show's holiday CD, American Idol--The Great Holiday Classics, which hits stores today.

And it looks like the world's prayers have been answered: American Idol judge Randy Jackson will write a book. Think the obvious title for this manuscript would have to be, What's Up, Dawg? So do the people at the book company. Look for it in January.

The tiger that mauled the "Roy" half of Seigfried & Roy gets released from quarantine today and will continue to live at an animal habitat at the Mirage hotel-casino. In fact, he should be back ravaging cheesy Vegas animal "illusionists" in no time!

Gone Country? Singer Sheryl Crow, who has homes in Los Angeles and New York, is moving to Nashville. She says she going to live on a farm full time. She also bought a recording studio in town.

Steve Martin as Inspector Clouseau? Filmmakers are trying to sign the comedy star for an updated The Pink Panther. Mike Meyers was originally attached to the role. But producers didn't go for the Austin Powers star's demand for a 20 meeeeeeee-leeon dollar paycheck.

Rapper 50 Cent was the big winner at the World Music Awards held Sunday night. He walked away with all five awards he was nominated for.

Christina Aguilera cancelled her performance at the last minute for the World Music Awards in Monaco. The reason? According to a source close to the "Dirrty" singer, Christina "didn't want to be associated with" the kind of schmaltzy songs fellow performer Mariah Carey is known for. Meow! Speaking of the schmaltz…

Wanna meet Celine Dion? There's some sort of contest you can win. You write some sort of essay or something. Details at CelineDionBeauty.com.

Barenaked Ladies perform on Leno tonight. The band Hot Hot Heat is on Letterman. (I don't know if anybody knows who that is. I came across one of their songs on Ka… I mean at the record store. It was kinda catchy.)

Kill Bill It's 1994 all over again: Quentin Tarantino's comeback film, Kill Bill: Volume 1, topped the weekend box office. This movie ends in the middle of the story. You'll have to see part two to find out the ending.

It's September all over again: J-Lo and Ben are back. The last-minute-change-of-wedding-plans couple were spotted (hard to miss in the front row) at the Yankees/Red Sox playoff game Saturday night. She's a Yankees fan. He's die-hard for the Sox. Uh-oh. The wedding's off AGAIN!

Notice how when Jen and Ben show up, the teams end up brawling. Show offs.

Rush Limbaugh admitted to his audience Friday that he's addicted to painkillers, and will take himself off the air while he seeks treatment over the next month. The show will feature a rotation of guest hosts, none of which will be Hilary Clinton.

Dr. Drew Pinskey has opined about Rush Limbaugh's addiction. Dr. Drew says "it's unrealistic to expect" someone to break this sort of serious addiction problem in just 30 days. In an interview with CNN, he explained that "three to six months of intensive treatment" is normally required, but applauded Rush for seeking help and wished him well.

The Rock as the Terminator? Governor Arnold says he won't be acting while he serves the state of "Caly-for-knee-ah." So the talk is The Rock could take over in a possible Terminator 4.

You know how sometimes an aging rocker will suddenly decide to release an album of pop standards (think Rod Stewart, Linda Ronstadt)? Well add the name Cyndi Lauper to that list. At Last hits stores November 18th, with Cyndi's version's of the songs "Unchained Melody," "Makin' Whoopee" and others.

Word is 'N Sync has started writing songs for a new album. Better write fast, guys--or you'll have to buy a ticket like everybody else if you wanna hear Justin Timberlake sing.

Sting has the number one dance single in the country (really??). The remix of "Send Your Love" is his first song to top the dance charts (no kidding).

Clay Aiken sings tonight on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Clay's album, Measure Of A Man, comes out tomorrow.
