![]() Michael Jackson's defense team is downplaying new molestation charges against the singer brought by a grand jury early this week. Lawyer Mark Geragos says the incredible level of secrecy involved in the case has intimidated witnesses. Mark Geragos also managed to play the "Osama Bin Laden" card this week--somehow comparing witnesses in the Jackson case being covered in blankets and driven to court in vans to Osama's lieutenants being put in training camps. Huh??? Michael Jackson is in Florida with his kids and is pleading with the press to respect his privacy, complaining he's under siege from a battalion of press helicopters and lurking photographers. One rumor has Cameron Diaz asking to find and produce a movie Diaz can star in with boyfriend Justin Timberlake. EminemMobile.com has never been associated with the rapper. But a lot of fans assumed the site was, and were paying for cell phone ring tones and such. So Eminem went to the U.N.'s World Intellectual Property Organization (they oversee this stuff), and won the web address from the cybersquatters. American Idol voting seems to get worse and worse. After a bottom three that should've been a top three, one of the top talents, Jennifer Hudson, was shown the door Wednesday night. Proof there IS a God, and that he's VERY forgiving (but apparently doesn't know bad singing): John Stevens remains on American Idol for another week! People are suggesting that something more sinister explains Jennifer Hudson's departure from Idol. There are too many conspiracy theories to list here (but if you go looking for them, it won't take long to find them). Okay, okay… here's a story from Billboard.com that details the controversy. Alicia Calaway was voted off Survivor: All Stars Thursday night. Ten: That's the number of weeks Usher's "Yeah" has topped the Billboard magazine singles chart. Usher's ex, Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas, has reportedly hooked up with a new boyfriend--Ray Lewis from the Baltimore Ravens! Usher, if you get the urge to call your ex at 3 AM… you might wanna think twice about that. --Greg Valentine
![]() Coffee? Tea? Or Sheryl Crow? I don't know if it's a first, but Sheryl will perform May 6th for passengers on board a United Airlines flight from Chicago to Los Angeles as part of stunt to publicize a new music service from Sony called Connect Online. Bill Rancic's claim to fame (before becoming "The Apprentice") was that he built a "multi-billion dollar" online cigar business. The Smoking Gun questions the venture's actual worth, revealing Rancic sold it last June for the more modest $425,000. Apprentice bad girl Omarosa recently yelled at an airport ticket agent for not upgrading her from coach to first class. Omarosa actually uttered the phrase, "Don't you know who I am?!" Friendly reminder: Never utter the phrase, "Don't you know who I am?!" It never works, and people make fun of you later. Omarosa has yet another gig lined up--she'll appear on the soap Passions. She'll have no problem playing her "evil twin"--the other twin… well, that'll take some acting! The Simple Life 2 debuts on FOX June 16th. The latest small screen fave coming to the big screen: Producers are developing a 21 Jump Street movie. Even people in jail find jobs quicker than I do! P. Diddy associate Shyne, who's serving 10 years for his role in a nightclub shooting, has just signed a $3 million record contract with Island Def Jam Music. So what was the deal with Paula Abdul last night? American Idol viewers couldn't help but notice she was injured. Paula told says a botched manicure resulted in a punctured thumb. That was some "f-up" on their part--her whole arm was in a sling! OK… so tonight's gotta be the night, right? That we finally get to say goodbye to John Stevens on American Idol? The voting this season's been flakier than Florida… so who knows? --Greg Valentine
![]() "Omarosa Bin Laden": The Apprentice's bad girl, is a hit. She's coming out with a line of women's business suits, is charging $15,000 a stop on a speaking tour, and has just signed a book deal. Word is the major networks are wooing Omarosa to be a political correspondent for the upcoming presidential election. She's also talking to Clairol, and could star in commercials for Herbal Essence shampoo. Star Jones (ABC's The View) was sooooo convinced she had inside info about who the winner was on The Apprentice that she sealed her guess in an envelope over a month ago. They opened it yesterday. She picked runner-up Kwame. Star, if you've got "inside info" about who's gonna win the NBA finals, tell me now. I want to cross them off my list! Lil' Kim has a trial date: November 15th. The rapper is accused of telling a grand jury some fibs about a shooting involving her entourage outside a New York City radio station. They've been writing a book called Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey's Secrets For A Happy (and Sexy!) Marriage. But it's not getting released just yet. Their agent says they've turned down the million dollar offer from the book company, and are holding out for more money. Justin Timberlake fans haven't been lovin' the fact that the song he wrote for McDonald's, "I'm Lovin' It," has been hard to buy (available only on a DVD). That'll change on May 4th. The track is being included on the compilation Totally Hits 2004. The Hip-Hop Hall of Fame Museum--complete with TV studio, retail store and themed restaurant--opens November in New York City. The founders have been inducting members since 1997. But until now, there hasn't been an actual building where memorabilia is displayed and activities held. Jewel says her next album will sound nothing like her most recent, the dance-oriented 0304. Guess Jewel realized there's already somebody out there doing "the Shakira sound"… namely Shakira! Out today: Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (DVD); The Haunted Mansion (DVD); Prince, Musicology (CD). Barry Manilow is the guest judge tonight on American Idol. The contestants are singing Manilow tunes, and the pop music icon even helped them with their arrangements. Anybody feel a "spunky" Diana DeGarmo version of "(Theme from) American Bandstand" comin' on? Quentin Tarantino directs tonight's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Rock band The Darkness performs--unless they get ginsu-ed by Uma earlier in the show! --Greg Valentine
