James Brown I Don't Feel So Good: Singer James Brown was busted yesterday on domestic violence charges, and remains in a South Carolina jail awaiting a bail hearing. More on the story from the Smoking Gun.

Add together all the TV viewers watching ABC, CBS, NBC and UPN on Tuesday night, and it's still not as many as watched American Idol on FOX! In the words of Simon Cowell, "Now that's what this competition's all about."

Who's Jessica Simpson rooting for in the Superbowl this Sunday? "I'd have to look at their uniforms and tell you what color I like best!" The singer will be seen during the game with the Muppets in a commercial for Pizza Hut.

A judge has ordered R. Kelly to stay away from Michael Jackson if they both attend the Grammys next month. Kelly needed to get permission to travel to California for the ceremony due to his upcoming child pornography trial. Kelly's nominated for two awards.

Janet Watch, Part 1: Word is, Janet Jackson will perform "Rhythm Nation" and "All For You" during the Superbowl halftime show Sunday, backed by 36 dancers, two marching bands and ten-thousand balloons.

Janet Watch, Part 2: According to Groovevolt.com, Justin Timberlake may join Janet Jackson during her Superbowl performance, and the site suggests the two might record a duet.

Janet Watch, Part 3: Is Janet's upcoming album called Damita Jo? The record company is tight-lipped and hasn't made an official announcement about the CD's title. But Amazon.com seems confident Damita Jo's correct. Take a look.

Singer Marc Anthony's wife has filed for divorce. The couple had a very public separation in 2002, followed by a very public reconciliation (In Style Celebrity Weddings TV special, where they renewed their vows in a lavish ceremony).

TLC releases a greatest hits disc (Now & Forever - The Hits) on February 3rd. It features one new track, a song called "Whoop De Woo," written by the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes. No live appearances are planned, as the group remains disbanded.

Faith Evans Faith Evans has been charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana. The R&B singer and her record exec husband, Todd Russaw, were arrested and booked at a jail near Atlanta yesterday.

Turning 50 is the new, cool thing, according to Oprah Winfrey, who just happens to turn the big "five-oh" tomorrow. She's throwing herself a massive on-air birthday blowout that'll continue through the weekend, designed to make "everybody jealous and wish they were 50."

Some guy is suing Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie claiming they didn't give him credit for his contributions to the movie Swept Away. Why?!

The Dave Matthews Band has been picked to receive the Chairman's Award at the NAACP Image Awards on March 6th in Los Angeles. The group is being honored for its devotion to social and environmental causes.

Will she be as interesting saying someone else's words? Kelly Osbourne's joining the cast of an ABC pilot called Doing It, her first attempt at scripted drama.

Beyoncé Knowles is set to perform "Crazy In Love" during halftime at the NBA All-Star game, February 14th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Chalk up another win for Outkast (outcasts they are very much not). Speakerboxxx/The Love Below is the number one album again on the Billboard charts. That's the second week in a row, and seven total weeks that the rap duo has topped the charts with their "double solo album."

The first video from Norah Jones' sophomore album debuts February 1st on VH1. The song is called "Sunrise." The CD Feels Like Home hits stores February 10th.

Only making albums when a Bush is president: 80s chart-toppers Tears For Fears are set to release their first new album since 1989. Happy Ending comes out April 16th.

The Washington Post recently asked the Democratic presidential candidates about their favorite music. Most listed such classic rock artists as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen as their faves.

Howard Dean is apparently the only hip-hop fan, according to the Post, who said the candidate likes Outkast and Wyclef Jean. From his speeches, I'm guessing he's a wrestling fan, too!

Democratic front-runner John Kerry says his favorite concerts were by the Grateful Dead. That'll impress a few voters--hopefully their 1969 VW buses will start on election day.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King tops all Oscar nominees with 11. The academy announced the nominations this morning. Who else is up for a trophy? Check out coverage from E Online.

The 76th Academy Awards are February 29th at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. Billy Crystal hosts. Gosh, I wonder if he'll open with one of those wacky song medleys?

The Razzie nominations were also announced today for the year's worst films. The, er, possible winners? Jen and Ben for Gigli, and Kelly and Justin for From Kelly to Justin. Guess that puts the kibosh on From Ruben to Clay.

Beyonce has signed on with Tommy Hilfiger to be the spokeswoman for a new fragrance launching this fall.

Could Barbara Steisand play Ben Stiller's mom in Meet The Fockers, the sequel to Meet The Parents? She has the script. She's thinking about it.

ABC's also giving Nick Lachey his own sitcom. That's in addition to the series they've signed his wife Jessica Simpson to star in.

Jessica Simpson's CD In This Skin will be re-released March 2nd, and will include her new duet with hubby Nick, the remake of Berlin's "Take My Breath Away."

TV pioneer Jack Parr passed away today at age 85. Parr hosted the Tonight Show on NBC from 1957 to 1962, and was responsible for developing the format the late night talk show still uses today.

Avril Lavigne, Sarah Mclachlan, Nelly Furtado, Nickelback and Barenaked Ladies will all perform at this year's Juno Awards, the Canadian version of the Grammys, April 4th in, uh, you know, "Canada."

It's funny how when you're a celebrity, everybody knows what you think about everything. For example, who does Simon Cowell think has a chance to be the "Democratic Idol" in the next presidential election? Simon says that Howard Dean has no chance, while Wesley Clark and John Edwards do.

Jessica Simpson MTV's Newlyweds, starring married pop stars Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, had its highest ratings ever with its second season premiere last week.

Barbara Walters is stepping down as host of ABC's 20/20 after 25 years. Her next endeavor? Barbara Walters' Striptease Aerobics.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King was the big winner last night picking up four Golden Globes, including Best Picture Drama and Best Director.

Eminem's mom was carjacked Thursday on the same road in Detroit made famous by her son's movie 8 Mile. Police caught the perp, a 16-year-old boy, a short time after the crime.

Dude, where's my Pseudocopaeodes Eunus? Ashton Kutcher's The Butterfly Effect topped the box office over the weekend, netting $17.1 million.

Alicia Keys' latest CD is called The Diary of Alicia Keys. Now comes word the singer is ready to write her life story. She's shopping around for a seven-figure book deal.

Your Friends say goodbye: The popular NBC comedy taped its final episode Friday night in front of an invitation-only audience. It's rumored they filmed one or more endings with no audience present to keep the surprise from leaking before the show airs May 6th.

Aerosmith will perform the blues classic "Baby, Please Don't Go" during Sunday's Superbowl XXXVIII pre-game show.

Conan O'Brien is taking his show to Toronto for a week's worth of broadcasts next month. Canadian bands Barenaked Ladies and Nickelback have agreed to perform. Anne Murray has not been asked.

R.I.P.: Bob Keeshan (Captain Kangaroo), who died from a long illness Friday, and fashion photographer Helmut Newton, who was killed in a car accident Friday. Keeshan was 76. Newton 83.

Dennis Miller's new talk show debuts tonight on CNBC. The comic's program will take a humorous look at news, entertainment, business and politics.
