![]() Britney's people say the report is false--the singer is not engaged. Earlier this week, Britney Spears cancelled the summer leg of her Onyx Hotel Tour because of the knee injury she suffered last week while filming a video for the song "Outrageous." She'll be in a brace for six weeks, followed by 8 to twelve of weeks rehabilitation. Isn't it odd that for months there've been rumors that Britney was sick and tired of this tour--and wanted out--and now she is? I'm not saying (but I guess I am saying)… Make it 0-for-5: The Bachelor's Jesse Palmer has broken up with the girl he picked on the show, Jessica Bowlin. None of the five bachelors in the show's history have stayed together with the women they selected. Guess it's a lot more fun being "the bachelor" than "the married guy" (when was the last time you saw Ray Romano in a hot tub with a bunch of hotties?). Method Man is blaming FOX for not allowing him and Red Man to make their show, Method & Red, "ghetto enough." He must've confused the network with UPN. "Dumb is just completely out of it, not knowing anything that is going on. I'm ditzy, like, I am the kind of girl that is just, like, out of it. I don't pay attention to what is going on." Thank you, Jessica Simpson--that clears everything up ;-) The most powerful celebrity in Hollywood this year according to Forbes magazine? Mel Gibson, who was able to turn the controversial The Passion of the Christ into a huge blockbuster. Lil' Jon is producing tracks for Paris Hilton. The heiress is making an album and may do some rapping on it. That has to be a first--I don't think she even does her own "rapping" when she buys gifts for people! Madonna has changed her name to Esther, a name inspired by her Kabbalah faith. Aren't "Esthers" usually, like, 90 years old? Madonna's only, what… 60, right? Usher's "Burn" stays number one on the Billboard singles chart, followed by Mr. Raymond's "Confessions, Part II." If the "Confessions" track knocks "Burn" outta the top spot, that'll be three different Usher songs to hold down the top spot in a row--something that hasn't been done since the days of the Beatles. New in theaters: The Terminal (Tom Hanks, directed by Steven Spielberg); Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn). --Greg Valentine
