GregValentine.com--A place to find radio personality Greg Valentine's airchecks, resume, photos, showprep,
	and marketing tips
Showbizz Buzz for Friday, July 11th

As far as I'm concerned, I'm doing a show everyday
(including all my showprep)! So I'll be posting
entertainment stories here daily. Depending on how
the website's done at your station, this could be a daily
feature on your site when I come to work for you!

JERRY SPRINGER could file papers as early as today
to run for the U.S. Senate. It won't be a big change
for Jerry--he's already used to hanging out with liars
and low-lifes.

VANESSA CARLTON will sing "The Star-Spangled
Banner" at baseball's All-Star Game on Tuesday in
Chicago.

TOBEY MAGUIRE says Spiderman 2 is going to be
even better than the first. But the actor refuses to
give any more details. Thanks, Tobey--my life has
been affected a grand total of zero by this.

SIMON COWELL is writing a book called, I Don't
Mean To Be Rude, But…
. That's hardly the truth,
and we wouldn't read your book if it were!

CELINE DION starts a month-long break tomorrow
from her Vegas show. Month long break--hey, that's
what I'm on! I just don't have $33 million in the bank
to show for my work this year.

ANGELINA JOLIE talks to Barbara Walters on 20/20
tonight. The actress explains her attraction to
women, and her fascination with knives, and how
she likes to incorporate those knives into her sexual
relationships. Than the two "get it on."

Now playing: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of
The Black Pearl
(opened Wednesday); The League of
Extraordinary Gentlemen.
(The guy that changes the
marquee at the theater JUST ran out of letters.)

Showbizz Buzz for Thursday, July 10th

Chapter II is number one. ASHANTI's new CD debuts at
the top of the chart. It's her second number one album.

Sign of the apocalypse? A tooth once belonging to the
ELVIS PRESLEY is for sale on eBay.

Actor ROBERT WAGNER is suing for a share of the
profits from the two Charlie's Angels movies. He says
he helped create the idea for the original TV show.

JOHN MAYER is promising to crank it up for his next
CD. The electric guitar-driven Heavier Things comes
out September 9th.

Who's made the most money touring so far this year?
The BILLY JOEL/ELTON JOHN tour has grossed $52.7
million to claim the top-honor. BTW, the DIXIE CHICKS
have earned $35 million (number three on the list).

Trying something different: AEROSMITH's next album
will be blues. HANSON's next album is acoustic.
Considering the Hanson boys don't have a record
contract at the moment, I thought they'd be the ones
singing the blues.

HILLARY CLINTON has sold over a million copies of her
book in a month, a new sales record for non-fiction.

VH1's has had a lot of success with its series, I Love
the 80s.
So get ready for some more time-travel. I
Love the 70s
debuts next month.

She's getting a lot of press on this one: BRITNEY SPEARS
has admitted to W magazine that she's (gasp!) not a virgin.
But she says former-boyfriend JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE has been
the only one. Call me old-fashioned, but a vibrant 21-year-
old woman making the choice to have sex doesn't really
seem like a news story.

Also, add MOBY to the list (FRED DURST) of unusual
collaborators for BRITNEY SPEARS' next album. Moby says
the song they did together is "brooding and atmospheric."
No confirmation if the cut will appear on the CD.

ABC newsman PETER JENNINGS officially became an American
citizen more than a month ago in a quiet Manhattan ceremony.
Secret ceremony?! A month ago!? Why all the hush-hush,
Peter? Unless… you're a spy for Canada!!

Music biz big shot TOMMY MATTOLA (MARIAH CAREY's ex) has
a new job. He's reviving the long-defunct Casablanca Records.
Back in the day, the label was home to the guiltiest of musical
pleasures (KISS, DONNA SUMMER, VILLAGE PEOPLE).

Ratings are lower today than during its phenomenal debut.
But SHARON OSBOURNE confirms there will be another 20-
episode season of The Osbournes.

What's the best selling CD of the year so far? Get Rich or Die
Trying
by 50 CENT, which has sold 5.3 million copies. This
confounds experts, who had no idea there were 5.3 million
people who don't Kazaa.

That was quick: The American Idol movie, From Justin to Kelly,
will be out on DVD August 26th.

"Nobody wants to interview AVRIL LAVIGNE. I haven't met a
single person who likes her." Those are the strong words of
MTV VJ Hilarie Burton. But they could've been said by each
and every radio person I know!

DANIEL BEDINGFIELD appears on the CBS soap, The Guiding
Light,
today. He'll perform his hit song, "If You're Not The One."

Eight fans were struck by lightning and injured at a DAVE
MATTHEWS BAND concert in Wisconsin on Sunday. If they're
true DMB fans, you just know they got out of the hospital,
and made it to the Dave show in the next city Monday night!

SIMON COWELL has signed a three-year deal to continue
as American Idol's resident "crap-detector." Did ya really
think he'd walk? In Hollywood, they call that "a Shelley
Long."

Now that she's completed her world tour, AVRIL LAVIGNE's
getting to work on her sophomore album. While fans are
waiting for that, they can pick up My World, a live CD and
DVD, due in stores September 29th.

Former Bachelorette TRISTA REHN and fiancé RYAN SUTTER
are being offered a million dollars for the TV rights to their
wedding this fall. In exchange, they'll have to give TV
producers final say on everything, including the bride's
dress and flowers. Yeah, like this is not gonna turn into a
made-for-TV freak show! Get ready for Charlie to "speak
up and NOT forever hold his peace."

When DESTINY'S CHILD singer BEYONCE KNOWLES met
PRINCE CHARLES this past weekend, His Royal Highness told
her: "Both my sons have your album and I think William quite
fancies you." That seems like something he'd say, and exactly
how he'd say it.

PAMELA ANDERSON is about to launch her own line of
sexy intimate apparel. I think I still have some back issues
of the "catalog" for that (and I remember it came out on
video, too).

OZZY OSBOURNE now says he believes pot leads to other
drug addictions (What? And then to high TV ratings and
huge merchandising fees?).

What's the top-grossing movie of the year so far? The Matrix
Reloaded
? Charlie's Angels 2? Nope. Kids'-flick Finding Nemo
has out-earned them all, raking up $275 million to date.

Big Brother 4 premieres tonight on CBS.

Showbizz Buzz for Monday, July 7th

He said he'd be back: ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER has
reclaimed the box office championship belt. Terminator #3
The Rise of the Machines
earned $44 million over weekend, to
debut at number one. The movie's made $72.5 million since
July 2nd.

JOHN MAYER kicks off his tour with COUNTING CROWS tonight
in Denver. John's been writing some new songs. So you May-er-
may-not hear a few, if you're going to one of those concerts this
summer.

KID ROCK threw a surprise thirty-sixth birthday party for
PAMELA ANDERSON on July 1st. That's a BIG surprise, because
everybody was saying they had broken off their engagement.

STING hits the road next year. A new album comes out
September 23rd. You can hear the first single, "Send Your
Love", on his website.

TV's Jed Clampett, actor BUDDY EBSEN, has passed away. The
Beverley Hillbillies
star was 95.

Feeling a little less love today: Veteran soul-man BARRY WHITE
also passed away over the holiday weekend. He was 58.

BEYONCE KNOWLES' debut solo album. Dangerously In Love,
debuts at number one on the charts.

Win the game on the reality show and get the million dollars.
Seems pretty straightforward, right? You'll be surprised to
learn that on the NBC reality-dating series, For Love Or Money,
that million dollar prize is paid out over 40 years--a longer
period than most lotteries!

BRITNEY SPEARS admits she went back to blonde because men
were paying less attention to her during her stint as a brunette.
Okay. But how does she explain the people paying less
attention to her music?

Extra, extra, read all about it: Actress SHARON STONE splitting
from that newspaper editor dude she married? The NY Post says
yes.

OZZY OSBOURNE has made a statement in which he admits
that "too much freedom" contributed to his son Jack's drug
use. Gee, ya think?

Rose are red. Violets are blue. I wrote a poem book. Then I
wrote another one. Singer JEWEL is threatening to release
another book of her poetry.

Happy Fourth of July!

JUSTIN GUARINI nearly hit a five-year-old girl while parking
his watercraft on the shore in Grand Prairie, Texas. The mop-
headed one was issued a citation by local police. Justin was with
KELLY CLARKSON and five other friends. Grand Prairie is Kelly's
hometown.

Shooting began Monday in Australia for Star Wars Episode III:
Return of the Movie with the Unnecessarily Long Title That Only
Little Kids Will Really Love, Anyway.

Are NICOLE KIDMAN and LENNY KRAVITZ dating? (Hey, I'm
asking. People see things. I hear about it and tell you).

There's special CD available only at Target featuring tour mates
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and CHRISTINA AGUILERA. It features
remixes and unreleased songs from both singers (but no duet).

Yet another one of those thirty-track compilations of ELVIS
PRESLEY hits is coming out this fall. Elvis 2nd to None hits
Stores October 8th. Elvis 30 #1 Hits held the top spot on the
album charts for three weeks when it was released last fall.

SEAN HAYES, who plays "Jack" on Will & Grace, celebrated his
33rd birthday by attending CELINE DION's show in Vegas. The
singer made the entire audience sing happy birthday to the TV
star. A dude goes to Vegas and celebrates his birthday at a
CELINE DION concert?

In theaters today: Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines;
Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde; Sinbad: Legend of
The Seven Seas.

Showbizz Buzz for Tuesday, July 1st

There's a big twist for the next installment of CBS' Big
Brother.
The ex-girlfriends, boyfriends and spouses of some
of the contestants will also be in the house! Be VERY glad
CBS didn't call you for this one!

RCA Records has changed its mind, and won't release RUBEN
STUDDARD and CLAY AIKEN's albums on the same day.
Instead, they'll come out on separate dates in September.
Continue with your life, now in progress.

LANCE BASS from 'NSYNC is getting inducted to the Mississippi
Musicians Hall of Fame on August 9th. Isn't this kind of honor
usually bestowed on performers when their music careers are over?
Maybe that DOES make sense!

Update on Las Vegas hotel-owner STEVE WYNN's attempt
to get MADONNA to put on a lavish Vegas-style show. She
wants too much money. He says they're no longer negotiating.

More MADONNA: she just signed on to do a Gap commercial.

80s girl group, the BANGLES, are planning a comeback, with
a new album set to come out September 9th. They've even
got a few concert dates set-the first of which is a county fair
(I'm sure the nearby arena was being used that night…yeah,
that's the ticket).

ASHANTI's new CD, Chapter II, is in stores today.

Showbizz Buzz for Monday, June 30th

Sad news from Hollywood, as acting great KATHARINE HEPBURN
passes away at age 96. She died at her home in Connecticut of
natural causes.

Charlie's Angels 2: Full Throttle kicks up $38 million to top the
weekend box office. That's actually $2 million less than the
original did its first weekend.

MTV is asking CHRISTINA AGUILERA to "tone down" her new
video for the song, "Can't Keep Us Down." They especially don't
like the scene where she plays suggestively with a water hose. Hey,
can't a girl clean off after getting "Dirrty"? The unedited version of
the vid can be seen on Christina's website.

LENNY KRAVITZ has started his own record label. He's named it
Roxie Records, in honor of his late mother, actress ROXIE ROKER,
of Jeffersons-fame.

The band BOWLING FOR SOUP has recorded a remake of BRITNEY
SPEARS' "Baby One More Time" for the Freaky Friday movie soundtrack.

KELLY OSBOURNE was recently booed and bottled (as in throwing
them at her!) off the stage at a music festival in Greenwich, England.
Her papa, OZZY, made a statement, which nobody could understand.

ABC's canceling daytime drama Port Charles. Last episode airs
October 3rd. Normally, this info wouldn't be on my radar. But as the
"out-of-work guy," if something affects my "stories," it's big news!
