![]() Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow were spotted disappearing into a room together at a Vegas hotel. Witnesses say they have no doubt what was going on from the noises they were hearing. The two were definitely NOT working on a new song, if you get the "Picture." Will Farrell could join Nicole Kidman as the Darren character in Bewitched, a movie version of the popular 60s TV show. I like this one already. Madonna next children's book will be aimed at boys. I bought one of her books that was aimed at boys about ten years ago, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't show it to any kids! The WB network wants to bring back the 60s TV show Lost In Space. Feature film director John Woo is set to direct the pilot. Seigfried told Larry King the other night that the big kitty was just trying to help Roy off the stage (help himself to dinner is more like it!). The U.S. Department of Agriculture is investigating the duo for violations of the federal Animal Welfare Act as a result of Roy's recent mauling. Meanwhile, casino mogul Steve Wynn says Roy Horn's white tiger was distracted by a woman with a big 'do sitting in the front row. The comment has outraged representatives of PETAH (People for the Ethical Treatment of Airborne Hair). Like to do only the things you think celebrities approve of (part two)? Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz were spotted coming out of a preview showing of Quentin Tarantino movie, Kill Bill. Linkin Park's Live in Texas hits stores on November 18th in both CD and DVD formats. In theaters now: Kill Bill; Intolerable Cruelty; Good Boy; House of the Dead. Rapper Lil' Kim portrays 60s singer Shirley Ellis on Sunday night's episode of American Dreams on NBC. Justin Timberlake does double duty as host and musical guest tomorrow on Saturday Night Live. John Mayer performs tonight on the Late Show with David Letterman. --Greg Valentine

So what's the deal? Now that Dave Matthews has released his first solo album (Some Devil), does that mean the Dave Matthews Band is breaking up? Nope! A new DMB album is planned for 2004. Dave hits the road for a quick solo tour starting in December. Simon Cowell says that as American Idol gets more popular, and the winners on the show get more famous, the talent-level of people hoping to be on the show gets worse. The "disillusion" (as Simon calls it) of these wannabe Idols should make for some funny TV when the show returns in January with those audition episodes. Outkast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below continues for a second week as the country's #1 album. When Limp Bizkit played Chicago last July, the band stormed off stage after just 17 minutes due to bickering between the band and the audience. Some of the fans who were there that night are getting together and suing the band (as they should) for refunds. Rumor has it Ashton Kutcher took Demi Moore home to Iowa to meet mom last weekend--and the two got along really well. Duh… aren't they from the same generation? Instant reax: users of AOL's First Listen feature have been voting on Britney Spears' new song, "Me Against The Music." Thirty-nine percent say they "hate it." Only 33 percent voted that they "like it." On the comeback trail: the Swedish 80s pop-metal band Europe and the English group Tears For Fears are recording their first albums in 15 years. They hope to tour (more than that, I'm guessing they hope people show up to see 'em). Siegfried Fischbacker spends the hour discussing Friday's mauling of his long-time partner, Roy Horn, tonight on Larry King Live. I think we've all learned a lot from this tragedy. Who knew these guys had last names! Dido performs tonight on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. --Greg Valentine
![]() Sheryl Crow, Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken, Kid Rock, Ricky Martin and Outkast have joined the lineup of performers for the American Music Awards November 16th on ABC. NBC says Maria Shriver will return to her work for Dateline, even if her husband Arnold Schwarzenegger is elected governor of California today. Elton John helps some "clueless" straight guy write a romantic love song for his wife? It could happen on a future episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. The show plans on having the occasional "specialty expert" join the Fab Five, and have reportedly talked to Elton about the songwriting gig. Queer Eye's Fab Five cameos on tonight's episode of Good Morning, Miami on NBC. Coincidences are so... coincidental sometimes: the future of an NBC animated comedy about a family of white tigers who perform in Seigfried & Roy's act is up in the air after Roy Horn's mauling. John Goodman and Orlando Jones are set to voice the main characters if the network goes ahead with Father of the Pride. Pink-hot rumor: singer Pink was spotted at a Tower Records store recently holding hands with guitarist Lars Frederiksen from the punk band Rancid, sparking talk that Pink's dismissed her boyfriend Carey Hart. Did U2's Bono violate indecency laws when he uttered "this is really, really f---ing brilliant" at this year's live broadcast of the Golden Globe Awards? The FCC has rejected a compliant brought by the Parents Television Council and others. Merry Cash-mas: singer Ashanti is feeling the Christmas spirit. Ashanti's Christmas hits stores November 18th, an album of holiday classics and four new songs. After the success of its Unauthorized Story of Three's Company, NBC's making one of those "tell-all" looks at the 70s TV phenomenon that was Charlie's Angels. Like to do only the things you think celebrities approve of? Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz were spotted coming out of a showing of the new Bill Murray movie, Lost In Translation. DVDs in stores today: The Lion King. --Greg Valentine
![]() Talk about kicking a man when he's down. PETA made the following statement after Roy Horn's mauling: "No matter how much you say that you love the wild animals whom you have confined...you are still the men who have subjugated their wills and natures to further your own careers." The School of Rock was able to Slaughter (hair band reference!) the competition at the box office over the weekend. The Jack Black flick earned $20.2 million to Warrant (oh, stop it!!) is first-place finish. Jack Nicholson, Danny Glover, Barbara Streisand and 43 other actors took out a full-page ad in Friday's Daily Variety encouraging people to "vote no on the recall" in tomorrow's election in California. Newlyweds, the MTV reality show starring pop stars Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, will be back for a second season (if the bickering couple can stay married long enough). Dave Matthews and Emmylou Harris are teaming up for an episode of CMT Crossroads, the Country Music Television series that pairs up rock stars with country performers. They'll tape next month, and air the show in January. Meanwhile, Dave Matthews, who's promoting his first-ever solo album Some Devil, is set as the musical guest on the November 8th episode of Saturday Night Live. Dave will also perform on Letterman sometime in December. Singer Michelle Branch performs her song "Breathe" on MTV's Hard Rock Live Wednesday, and on ABC's The View Thursday. Britney Spears and Madonna were never actually in the studio together while recording "Me Against The Music." Turns out the song was already completed before the duo's infamous smooch. You gotta let the older lady sing on your song after having hot girl-on-girl action with her--it's one of those "relationship rules." Tim Armstrong, leader of the punk band Rancid, is hooking up with Gwen Stefani to write some songs for the No Doubt singer's first solo album. Armstrong recently co-wrote ten songs for Pink's upcoming album. Singer Billy Joel broke his wrist recently after falling in his home. Doctors needed five pins to put it back together, but say the Piano Man will make a full recovery. Which reminds me of my favorite joke of 2003: "Gas prices are sooooooo high that Billy Joel had to take the bus to that tree he was gonna hit!" --Greg Valentine
