ABC's Jimmy Kimmel hosts the festivities.

How credible are the American Music Awards? Keep in mind Clay Aiken received a nomination for Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist, even though his album hadn't been released at the time!

PETA has produced a new ad starring Triumph the Insult Comic Dog urging people to spay and neuter their pets. The ad features the cigar chomping puppet saying, "Get Neutered - It Didn't Hurt Clay Aiken." PETA's upset with Aiken for declaring in a Rolling Stone interview, "When I was about sixteen, I had a kitten and ran over it."

In stores today: Jay-Z's new CD, The Black Album.

Three new movies with colons in their title in theaters this weekend: Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World; Looney Tunes: Back in Action; Tupac: Resurrection.

Pill-popper Rush Limbaugh returns to his national radio program Monday. His brother David made the announcement, saying the talk show host has completed "phase one" of his rehabilitation. Rush is still under investigation for possible drug offenses, according to Florida law enforcement officials.

Thing I didn't expect to be typing today: they wanna make a sequel to the 1985 flick The Goonies.

Singer Macy Gray will play Memphis soul singer Carla Thomas in an episode of NBC's American Dreams scheduled to air in January.

She's Trouble, Y'all: NBC told Pink her appearance on the Today Show this Friday would be cancelled if she appeared this week on rival network ABC's Live With Regis & Kelly. Not one for "rules" and "being told what to do," Pink performed on Regis anyway. So instead of Today, Pink will sing on ABC's Good Morning, America this Friday.

Britney Spears has cancelled an upcoming performance on the Today Show because she was unhappy with a recent segment devoted to her on NBC's Dateline.

Andre 3000 says Outkast is NOT breaking up. The rapper recently name-checked some rock and roll history while denying the group's demise: "I think people love John Lennon's thing and people love Paul McCartney's thing, but it's just not as good as the Beatles."

Britney Spears is upset that the makers of diet pill Zantrex-3 have posted tabloid reports that she uses the product on their website. Britney says she doesn't, and is suing. I guess she wants us to believe she parties all night long, eats whatever she wants, and never has to exercise.

Celine Dion held up the start of her show for an hour last Saturday, waiting for Michael Jackson to arrive and take his seat in the audience. The audience wasn't told the reason for the delay. I remember telling a buddy that they should do this months ago. Of course, I was just joking--they're gonna do it for real: Straight Eye for the Queer Guy. Bravo has given the okay for five straight guys with knowledge of sports and power tools to makeover a gay guy.

Straight Eye for the Queer Guy tip #1: when deciding which ratty old tee shirt and pair of jeans to wear, simply use "the sniff test."

VH1 is looking to revive The Partridge Family. The new version would start with the show being cast via an American Idol-style reality TV competition. Then the new cast would go on to star in an updated version of the show about a single mom and their family singing group.

Most celebs: "Yap, Yap, Yap, Atkins, Yap, Yap." Catherine Zeta-Jones: wants everybody to know she's NOT on the Atkins diet-- that the pounds she recently shed aren't from using the popular diet as some news agencies have reported.

That album from Bob Guiney of ABC's The Bachelor is coming out November 25th. Bob actually recorded it years ago, but the record company decided to release it to capitalize on his new-found fame. When Bob heard about their plans, he decided to get actively involved and record some new songs for the release.
